SFPD TOUR “Best Day Ever!” – Candy Tsang!

Well, if you missed the SFPD Marine Tour, you really missed a great opportunity for some fun! Seven of our members started the morning with an overview of the SFPD’s operations on the water. Then, it was off to the water, to spend the next couple of hours going from China Beach to Oracle Park, and pretty much everywhere in between! We’re also pleased to note that seven of our members were allowed to leave the tour without incident to enjoy a fun lunch together!

  • REMSEN BARNARD END OF WATCH

    REMSEN BARNARD END OF WATCH

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our past fleet commodore, Remsen Barnard.  Rem and his wife Vera had been very active in the fleet for a number of years.  Rem was a member of the Rotary Club of Walnut Creek.

Rem was a fighter, battling Parkinson’s Disease for over 20 years.

Rem was so many things to those he touched.  He was a leader, a mentor, a sailor, a friend, and so much more.

Rem also served as the chief of staff for past international commodore Clint Collier.  His ability to keep a calm head while addressing international requests helped Clint have a tremendously successful administration.

Rem was passionate about sailing.  His enthusiasm for the sea prompted the fleet to establish a scholarship in his honor that allows young people to spend a week-long session aboard the tall ship Matthew Turner.

We would encourage you to honor Rem’s memory by considering a donation in any amount you wish.  A direct link to the donation page is here.

If you prefer, you may mail your check, payable to:
